For many young Nigerians, gaining admission into a tertiary institution is a major achievement. However, for students from vulnerable and low-income communities, admission is often only the beginning of another challenge: finding the financial resources to stay in school.

At Carewave Foundation, we believe that financial hardship should never determine how far a talented young person can go.

This belief is at the heart of the Carewave ASPIRE Scholarship Programme (CASP), an initiative created to support academically outstanding Nigerian students who have demonstrated the potential to succeed but lack the financial capacity to pursue their education.

About the Carewave ASPIRE Scholarship Programme

The Carewave ASPIRE Scholarship Programme (CASP) is a merit- and need-based scholarship initiative designed to provide financial support to students from vulnerable communities who have gained admission into eligible tertiary institutions, with priority given to Federal Universities in Nigeria.

The programme will initially provide scholarship support for one academic year. At the end of the academic session, scholars will be assessed based on their academic performance and compliance with the programme’s requirements.

Students who maintain the required academic standard will have their scholarship renewed for subsequent academic sessions. This structure ensures that the programme not only provides financial assistance but also encourages scholars to remain committed to academic excellence.

Why CASP Matters

Education has the potential to transform individuals, families and entire communities. Yet talented students can be forced to abandon their educational aspirations because of the cost of tuition, institutional charges, learning materials, accommodation and other expenses associated with university education. For families already struggling to meet basic needs, these costs can create a significant barrier.

CASP seeks to help bridge this gap by giving deserving students an opportunity to pursue higher education without allowing financial circumstances to define their future.

Who is Eligible?

The Carewave ASPIRE Scholarship Programme is intended for students who demonstrate both academic excellence and genuine financial need.

Applicants are expected to:

● Be Nigerian citizens.

● Have secured admission into an eligible Federal University in Nigeria.

● Demonstrate strong academic performance.

● Come from a vulnerable or financially disadvantaged community.

● Demonstrate genuine financial need.

● Show integrity, leadership potential and commitment to their education.

● Meet all other requirements outlined in the official scholarship guidelines.

Carewave recognises that vulnerability can take different forms. Therefore, the selection process will consider the applicant’s individual circumstances alongside their academic achievements.

● Remain enrolled in their approved programme.

● Participate in applicable Carewave mentorship and scholar activities.

This annual review process allows Carewave to ensure that scholarship resources continue to support students who remain committed to their education.
